Graham Shaw – Registered Psychologist

Graham holds a Master of Professional Psychology and is registered with AHPRA, Medicare, WorkCover, ADF (Bupa), and the NDIS Commission.
His primary therapeutic modality is Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR), which he uses to treat a broad range of presentations including PTSD, complex trauma, depression, anxiety, panic disorder, addiction, grief and loss, and relationship difficulties. EMDR forms the backbone of his clinical work, providing a structured yet flexible framework for resolving distress and supporting lasting improvements in wellbeing.
Graham’s practice is further informed by training in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Emotion Focused Therapy, Schema Therapy, and Coherence Therapy, which he draws on to complement and deepen the therapeutic process depending on each client’s needs. He also has extensive experience working with neurodivergence as well as behavioural, and cognitive assessment.
Graham’s approach focuses on how issues like depression or anxiety, often seen as problems, may actually be unconscious solutions to past challenges. By uncovering and making this implicit emotional learning conscious, therapy can help clients update these patterns with more adaptive ways of being. This approach focuses not on diagnosis but on understanding how current struggles once served a purpose, paving the way for meaningful resolution.
