NDIS Psychologist Central Coast
At Alpha Psychological Solutions, we are all about empowering individuals with disabilities to develop their skills and increase their independence. One way we do this is by providing Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) and psychological capacity building funded by the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS).
The NDIS is a government program that provides financial support to people with disabilities in Australia. With NDIS funding, you can access psychological support to improve your daily living and relationships.
NDIS Psychology support aims to help you:
- Unlock your potential by developing new skills and expanding your knowledge.
- Become more independent.
- Take control of your life and enhance your sense of empowerment by learning how to make decisions and solve problems effectively.
- Develop emotional intelligence and learn how to regulate your feelings to achieve a more stable and fulfilling life.
- Gain confidence and self-esteem by learning everyday tasks such as cooking, cleaning, and taking care of yourself.
- Expand your social possibilities and become more involved in your community by building your communication skills and engaging in group activities.

What to expect from your NDIS funded Psychology Appointment
If you’re an NDIS participant embarking on a journey with a psychologist, we want to support you every step of the way. Our team are dedicated to providing evidence-based psychological management and intervention to help you reach your goals and improve your quality of life.
We understand that disability comes in many forms, and we are equipped to work with diverse physical, psychological and neuro-developmental conditions. We offer both in-person and online appointments.
Your first appointment is all about getting to know each other, establishing your goals and needs, and creating a treatment plan. Depending on your needs and funding, we can organise weekly, fortnightly, or monthly appointments.
With Alpha Psychological Solutions, you’re not alone on your journey. We’re here to support you every step of the way.
How can I use my NDIS plan to fund psychological therapy?
Not all types of psychology support are covered by the NDIS. Don’t worry, though, we’ve got you covered.
If you do have a NDIS plan, you can use your Capacity Building and Core Supports budgets to pay for psychological support, which means you’ll have the flexibility to choose the services that work best for you.
Improved Daily Living
If you’re struggling with identifying and managing your emotions or understanding social situations, a psychologist can provide the support you need to tackle these challenges head-on. To access these services, you can use your Capacity Building Budget, specifically your Improved Daily Living funds (item 15_054_0128_1_3).
Improved Relationships
Do you want to build better relationships with the people in your life? Well, there’s good news – Improved Relationships is available to support you in developing positive behaviours and enhancing your ability to interact with others. With Improved Relationships funding, you have the power to access psychology services through item 11_022_0110_7_3 or 11_023_0110_7_3.
Positive Behaviour Support
At Alpha Psychological Solutions, we also offer positive behaviour support (PBS). PBS focuses on understanding the function of challenging behaviour and developing individualised strategies to support long lasting and adaptive behavioural change. We are also committed to reducing and eliminating the use of restricted practices wherever possible.
When implementing PBS, Alpha Psychological Solutions will come to you, whether in your home, school, work, day program or a place in the community that suits you. Please make a note on your referral form if you need behavioural or psychological services of this type.
How do we claim NDIS funds?
So, how do we claim NDIS funds? It depends on how your funds are managed. If your funds are NDIA-managed, we book them directly through the government’s NDIS portal. If they’re plan-managed, we send an invoice to your plan management organisation. And if they’re self-managed, we email you an invoice each week, which you can claim back directly through the NDIS.
